Also know as BBM, this cool and handy app is the perfect way to stay in touch with your friends and family. Being extremely easy to use, it’s taken the app market by storm and is perfect for swapping names and numbers with those who you’ve just met, great for playing games and ideal for trash talking when your favorite sports teams are up against eachother. What’s even better, is that it’s FREE!
Additional features include being able to host or join events and games, hooking you up with your best pals with the lastest cool BlackBerry games and letting you chat and discuss anything with them at the same time.

The Good
The concept is very simple with this app, which is great since there can be some incredibly confusing ones. All you have to do is assign a specific color to contacts in your stored numbers on your Blackberry. When someone from your address calls you, your screen will flash in that color making it obvious which person or group of people is calling you, without you having to read the name.
So, let’s take an example. Say you wanted to use red for work contacts, such as your boss, or the General Manager. Chances are you’re going to want and need to take this call ASAP, so all you do is scroll down to the red color on the app and you are taken to your contacts list. Assign the names and hey presto, you’re done. Now, when you see your phone flashing red on the desk 10 feet away, you know it’s likely to be a call you’re going to need to answer. What’s also great, is if you miss that call then your phone will continue to flash red and so you know you’ve missed an important call.
The Bad
Even though this app is really easy to download and set up, you are limited to only 4 contacts that you can assign, so you have to think wisely as to who you want to flash in which color.
Also, an annoyance has been found whereby you need to pull the battery out in the first instance after downloading the app for it to start working. Why? I’ve no idea, but it’s not difficult to do, of course.

Despite the battery pull annoyance, this app is free and can be very handy, so you’ve actually got nothing to lose by downloading it.

This app screams convenience and will definitely make it way onto the mobile electronics of every person on the planet soon. Not only is it compatible with all web enabled phones, it is highly functional and extremely reliable.
So what does this little app have to offer you? Well just the tip of the iceberg shows that it is one of the best public & educational content distribution systems in the world. It connects you with the information you are seeking. One aspect of the application places a link between you and your MLS. MLS is a real estate utility for homes kin fog like the DMV is for vehicle and drivers. It keeps track of a home’s status, information, current value. If your like me you hate having to load up an internet page on your phone, try and type in the word your looking for into google wait for it to load and actually search to find the link that is giving you the simple definition you were looking for in the beginning. So when I got the dictionary application on my black berry I was happy. I am always having people ask ‘what does this mean’ you don’t realize how many times you come across a word you want to know the exact definition until you have an easy way to find it. Just click on the app type the word in and there you go.
It save a couple of moments of loading the internet and searching for the right link with the definition and another fun feature is the thesaurus and you can even look at your recent words you have looked up. Now some may call me cheesy and that is a claim I can not deny but I love the ‘word of the day’ application. If you like introducing new words in to your vocabulary this is a fun feature. Every day there is a random word you most of the time have never seen and it gives a definition and of course how to pronounce it. It is a fun game I have with myself and sometimes a friend or two to see who can use it the most in that day while truly using the word in context.
You might laugh at some of the things you can come up with. This isn’t an application that has all the bells and whistles it is just one that makes me feel comfortable to have in my pocket when I am reading or just come across something I haven’t heard of before. Or as my family has been using it lately for a quick way to look up something when we are playing boggle. Now this application may not be for everyone since it is a waste of space if you never have the need to look something up, but I know many people who are always wishing they had a dictionary around and this is a whole lot easier then lugging around a book. So if this sounds like something you might want to give a try just to see if you really use it as much as I was surprised I did. We recently got a hold of the app Drive Safe.ly, which reads your text messages out loud so you can continue driving safely. It boasts human-like text to speech capabilities in an easy to use interface. While the developer has a lot to say about the great things this app does, they don’t quite tell you everything.
While the concept of safe driving by having your SMS messages read aloud is great, this app was a bit of a disappointment. It does exactly what it says it does, it will read your texts out loud. What we saw with this app, however, is that it does more than that.
I like that I can have my texts spoken aloud—when I’m driving. However this app does not automatically shut off or silence when your phone is set to vibrate, you must manually open the app and exit out of it. Also, it severely depletes battery life, and slows the phone down considerably while in use.
At first, the auto-reply messages seemed like a good idea. If you were driving, it would read your message to you, and automatically send back a message saying “I heard your TXT read by www.DriveSafe.ly. I will get back to you soon.” While this is nice at first, after a while it becomes a bit of a nuisance. Every message received gets this reply until you turn the app off.
Altogether this app has potential, but as of this publication the current version has too many drawbacks to be considered useful.
